A Little About Me

Hi :) My name is Amber. I'm a 28 year old country girl, and I'm married to a city boy. I grew up in Northern California on a 40 acre farm, and I loved every minute of it. My mom and dad divorced when I was 1, but both remarried when I was about 5. I have a brother who is 2 years older than me and a sister who is 9 years younger. I moved to Utah just before my 19th birthday - I'm still trying to figure out why. Together, my husband and I have 2 nephews (Lane & Bransen) and 4 nieces (Emily, Hanna, Haiden & Maddie).

My first love in life are horses. I grew up competing in Stadium Jumping, and participating in 4-H and local gymkhanas. I think everything in life is better when dealt with on top of a horse. Due to life events, I've had to give up many of my life dreams - being an equine vet, studying at Colorado State, competing in the Summer Olympics. But I do currently have a 3 year old gelding, and I love spending time with him - he's my therapy.  I'm also obsessed with my Shiba Inu, Kumo. He's almost 8 years old and can make me smile no matter the day or circumstance. He's been by my side for almost all of my surgeries and I can't imagine my life without him.

Prior to the last few months, I had a career in Real Estate. I'm licensed in the State of Utah, and love just about every aspect of the industry. It wasn't something I always dreamed of doing, but it was a dream come true nonetheless.

I've struggled with health issues for 16 years. Most recently, it's gotten to the point where I can no longer work traditionally (instead I've been lucky to find a part-time job that I can do from home in my PJ's!) and I've started spending cold weather days on my couch with heating pads and pain meds and warm weather days on my hammock, soaking up the sun, also with pain meds. I have an incredible support system in my family (special mention should be given to my husband, my mom & my grandparents - they are my rocks!) and have a select few friends that I know I can always count on.
